Tips for a Romantic Rainy Day Wedding

We can’t always guarantee good weather here in the UK, particularly in the North West! But, that’s no reason to let a little rain spoil your special day. There are lots of fun and special ways to embrace rain on your Wedding day and make it part of the experience.

Wedding photographers are fantastic at making your day look as special as it truly is, rain will become an added part of your story through your pictures. Simply speak to your photographer before your Wedding day and ask them questions about what they would do in the event of rain, and how they would overcome this to produce amazing photographs, we can assure you they’ll have brilliant ideas and back-up plans.

Tips for a Romantic Rainy Day Wedding:

Buy Wellies!
Wellington boots will not only look cute but will give you plenty of fun photo opportunities such as Wedding shoes next to the wellies and Bride and Groom stood together in wellies.

Matching Umbrellas.
Providing matching umbrellas for your guests can make all the difference when looking back at photos. Matching the colour to your theme and bridesmaids dresses can be a nice touch, although clear umbrellas can look brilliant too.

Have a Back up Ceremony Area.
If you’ve planned an outdoor Wedding then be sure to have an indoor area to retreat to in case the rain begins to fall.

Bring Towels to Dry Seats and Benches.
Sitting outdoors and taking pictures on romantic benches will need to be dried, being prepared will really pay off here.

No one really wants to plan for a rainy Wedding but if you are prepared then you’ll enjoy it either way! Good luck this weekend everyone.

Enjoy Homemade Frozen Yogurt

We love relaxing in the Summer with a nice cold frozen yogurt. It’s not long that we can enjoy the sunshine here in England so it’s great to make the most of it and enjoy the time to the full potential with an array of tasty frozen treats. Ice cream and lollies are the obvious choice in the sunshine, but to discover a tasty and healthier option frozen yogurt is the perfect alternative choice.

Making your own frozen treats may seem like a difficult task, but all you need is the patience to allow it to freeze! Selecting your own fruits and flavours will make it the tastiest treat just for you. One of our favourite flavours is ‘Blueberry Frozen Yogurt’, all you need is a food processor and 4 simple ingredients. Simply follow the recipe here:

Ingredients:
4 cups of frozen blueberries
3 tablespoons of honey
1/2 cup of coconut yogurt
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
3/4 cup flaked coconut (if you want to add this tasty extra)

Add all blueberries, honey, yogurt and lemon juice to your food processor and mix together for 5 minutes, so they smooth out nicely. Then add the mixture in to a container and leave until ready to serve. Simply check the mixture after several hours, and then serve with the flaked coconut on top for a special extra.

Treat yourself and create a tasty treat!

Creating the Perfect Mediterranean Dish

This time of year has us feeling all Summery, and when the sun comes out we wish for nothing more than to be sat on a Spanish beach taking in the view and sipping a sangria.

What also gets us excited here at Vanilla In Allseasons is the beautiful latin cuisine. Mediterranean food often refers to food originating from regions close to the Mediterranean sea from countries such as Albania, Egypt, Portugal and of course Spain.

Mediterranean food is rich with flavour, from the beautiful meats which are often included in its dishes such as anchovies and tasty smoked ham. Not only does it taste great but it looks fantastic too. The range of lovely grilled vegetables brings a vibrant set of colours and creates a sweet smell that helps make the Mediterranean cuisine both scrumptious and fragrant.

We at Vanilla love working with Mediterranean food and have a Mediterranean inspired menu. Take a look at page 9 of our formal menu here to find more about our amazing Mediterranean options.

We were especially impressed by, ‘The North West Wedding Awards Menu 2015’ on the evening of the event in Liverpool, which was extremely good. The varied selection of food from the 5 spiced breast of duck, summer watercress grapefruit salad with a balsamic glaze canapé, to the white chocolate and raspberry créme brûlée with shortbread biscuit were all fantastic.

TABLE PRESENTATION

Congratulations to all of the other businesses who were involved in the event, both nominees and winners. Everyone we meet provides a fabulous service in this industry, whether it’s venue hospitality or incredible photography. We look forward to seeing you all again soon at the events we will be catering over the Summer!

Thanks everyone.
