Enjoy Homemade Frozen Yogurt

We love relaxing in the Summer with a nice cold frozen yogurt. It’s not long that we can enjoy the sunshine here in England so it’s great to make the most of it and enjoy the time to the full potential with an array of tasty frozen treats. Ice cream and lollies are the obvious choice in the sunshine, but to discover a tasty and healthier option frozen yogurt is the perfect alternative choice.

Making your own frozen treats may seem like a difficult task, but all you need is the patience to allow it to freeze! Selecting your own fruits and flavours will make it the tastiest treat just for you. One of our favourite flavours is ‘Blueberry Frozen Yogurt’, all you need is a food processor and 4 simple ingredients. Simply follow the recipe here:

Ingredients:
4 cups of frozen blueberries
3 tablespoons of honey
1/2 cup of coconut yogurt
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
3/4 cup flaked coconut (if you want to add this tasty extra)

Add all blueberries, honey, yogurt and lemon juice to your food processor and mix together for 5 minutes, so they smooth out nicely. Then add the mixture in to a container and leave until ready to serve. Simply check the mixture after several hours, and then serve with the flaked coconut on top for a special extra.

Treat yourself and create a tasty treat!

It’s also a brilliant experience to sit down and meet with couples, get to know them and find out what food they want to create for their guests. Forging Wedding menus is a wonderful experience as you are creating the atmosphere for the day. The difference between choosing a sit down meal and a buffet means altering the feel of the entire day. That’s why it’s important to discuss details of their Wedding with couples to ensure that we create a menu suitable to the day.

Stuff the Turkey

Turkey is the nations favourite bird when it comes to the Christmas centrepiece. Saying this, some people do like to try an alternative every now and again as people can find it a bit too dry.
We love a good old traditional Turkey for our Christmas meal here at Vanilla, but we also like to source new ideas and recipes whenever possible to make sure that we have a wide range of menu choices to offer our clients.
We’ve managed to locate some of the tastiest substitutes to Turkey to share with you in case you fancy a bit of a change this Christmas.
Beef Fillet with Horseradish & Prosciutto

You might be thinking “But we have Beef most Sundays”. Not like this you don’t. Wrapping the Beef in the Prosciutto Ham protects the meat resulting in an extremely tender cut of Beef. Well worth trying out. Check out the recipe here.

Shop Locally this Christmas!

As a company we aim to support local businesses, and believe it’s essential to keep the community thriving. There are many great independent retailers which can be found in every town across the country – and we feel it’s important to support them! It’s great to be able to serve such wonderful dishes made with local produce and avoid what’s been mass produced.

There are several great local businesses which we work with including, JJJ Heathcotes, the famous family butchers. Another great supplier of ours is Clippy’s who we get our fantastic cordial, chutneys, relishes & more from. Cheshire Fish provide us with so many tasty fish & seafood products. Bramhall Bakery is a wonderful place to visit, with their large selection of sweet and savoury produce.

They also produce the most fabulous cupcakes! Their skill & design in cake decoration is of an incredible standard, and now you can learn it too! They hold cupcake decorating classes which you can attend no matter your skill level, what could be more fun? This could also make for a brilliant Christmas present…

National Curry Week 2014

It’s National Curry Week!

What better excuse to rustle up a fantastic curry as a midweek speciality? Or treat yourself on the weekend and invite your friends and family over? It seems there is never a reason not to put a wonderful curry together! This annual event in October is a wonderful opportunity to experiment with new tastes and spices to create something exciting. Whether you enjoy little, mild or hot spice there is a curry dish out there for everyone!

curry

Curries are fantastic meals to create as they are so diverse. The vastness of curries allows for creativity when making your chosen dish. Remember that there are many areas of the world which produce varied tasting classic curries. Will you stick with the popular options of a tikka masala? Or play it safe with a creamy korma? Why not up the ante with some Jamaican spice and make it hot with a curried goat dish? Or pay homage to South East Asia and whip up a tasty Thai green curry?

Or if you aren’t ready to take on the curry challenge you could show your support for National Curry Week by eating out.
