Weeks after you are thinking about what a wonderful day it was. Your photographer has your photos ready for you to view.
Did you ask your photographer to take pictures of your fabulous meal? – A huge part of the day – and no images to remember it by…….

Remember to ask your photographer to take some shots of your wonderful food – if you have gone to the effort of booking a brilliant caterer such as Vanilla in Allseasons then food is obviously important to you – make sure it is captured so that you have memories of every single part of your day!!

Some photographers will do this anyway – but just to be certain – it doesn’t harm to ask and you may regret it if you don’t.

Let Your Guests Help Themselves

Vanilla in all seasons cater for a range of different events from weddings to corporate functions. Over the years we have become experts at assisting our clients in finding the right tone for there event. Formal sit down meals are always a good choice for a more formal setting however this week we want to focus on something more casual, a buffet style meal can be just as enjoyable as a set menu.

Buffets are a good idea for many different reasons, if you have a large amount of guests attending your wedding then a buffet is the easiest way to meet everyones needs. A set menu can be difficult for guests who have certain dietary needs or allergies. A buffet allows guests to take as much or as little as they want of each food group and the food will always be hot as the caterers will frequently bring out fresh food. Guests going and serving themselves at buffets can also encourage social interaction which is a good way of getting people mingling at your event.

Buffets can be decorated with gorgeous linens, floral arrangements, lighting and table design and can create a lovely setting for your food. At Vanilla we source all our meat, fish, vegetables and other key ingredients from reputable local providers creating the finest quality food for your event (see last weeks blog about the importance of local produce). If you’re planning a casual summer event and would like Vanillainallseasons to help you make your day one to remember please don’t hesitate to contact our lovely team.

The Importance of Local Produce

At Vanilla In Allseasons we locally source all of our supplies to ensure that our clients receive the highest standard products at their events. By using local vendors Vanilla provide the freshest possible ingredients for all of our dishes as well as supporting the local economy and reducing our carbon footprint by cutting transportation time.

A Very Special Wedding, In a Very Special Venue

This weekend Vanilla catered for a wedding held in one of Britain’s hidden treasures, Upper House Hayfield. UHH is located within 30 acres of private woodland and is an original luxury accommodation for up to 21 guests. The house offers unparalleled views of Kinder Reservoir and Kinder Scout, if you love walking and countryside pursuits, there is simply nowhere better. Upper House has a long fascinating history which includes intriguing characters such as Sir James Watts, Mary Augusta Ward and Agatha Christie.

Upper House stands isolated on the side of Kinder Scout, at the convergence of ancient pack horse routes from Glossop, Hayfield and Edale. Sir James Watts Mayor of Manchester sold the land to Stockport Water Authority for the Reservoir in the late 1800’s, Sir James insisted that he retain Upper House as his shooting lodge and set about improving it with the talented architects, the estate was then used solely for recreation, with two woodlands being created to enhance the available game stocks on the moors.

The beautiful location of Upper House and the great food service resulted in a extra special wedding day for Vanilla’s very own Simon, we hope you enjoyed our menu of whipped goats cheese and pickled veg, halibut, cheshire smoked beef artichoke puree and oxtail croquet and our trio creme brûlée chocolate pot tart tartan.

Overall the menu, location and ceremony came together to make a lovely day for everyone. We would like to congratulate Simon and his lovely new wife Elizabeth.

Owen House Barn & Our Upcoming Open Day

On Sunday 14th of February the Vanilla team had a wonderful time catering for the Owen House Barn Open Day. Owen House Barn, located in Mobberley in the Cheshire countryside, is a popular wedding venue. The family run setting offers a unique wedding experience, utilising its recently converted barn, that still maintains its rustic and countryside charm, as its primary space. A fantastic day was had by all, we always love visiting our friends at Owen House Barn, the venue is spectacular and the people are lovely!

Vanilla’s next open day will be taking place at Chetham’s Library:

Chetham’s has been in continuous use as a free public library for over 350 years, however the beautiful building is also open as a fantastic function space. The library can hold anything from ceremonies and drinks receptions to wedding breakfasts which are all hosted in a series of period rooms with flexibility to accommodate the most intimate gathering or much larger event.

On Sunday the 21st February from 11am to 3.30pm our catering team will be offering refreshments for you to take into the gorgeous building. This is a good opportunity for couples to come and see for themselves how unique this location is whilst wetting your appetite with our scrumptious selection of samples.

Chetham’s Library Wedding Open Day

There’s a brand new wedding venue in the North West and we’re very excited about it. Welcome to Chetham’s Library.

You may have seen our blog a couple of weeks ago taking a look Behind the Scenes of a Bridal Shoot at the venue. This week we thought we’d bring you some history about the library.

Chetham’s Library was founded in 1653 and is the oldest public library in England. As an independent charity it remains open to readers and visitors free of charge, although a minimum donation can be made of £3. The collection of books in the library have been designated as one of national and international importance, an accolade of which they are extremely proud. Chetham’s is a place steeped in history which makes it a perfect wedding venue.

Wedding ceremonies in this fascinating setting, are truly days to remember. Ceremonies are mostly held in the Baronial Hall, within the beautiful old sandstone walls of what was, other than the neighbouring church, the largest building in the medieval town of manchester.

Vanilla in Allseasons are delighted to say that we are the official event caterers for Chetham’s Library. Ceremonies, drinks receptions and wedding breakfasts can be hosted in a series of period rooms with flexibility to accommodate anything from the most intimate gathering to larger groups. If the beautiful Chetham’s is a venue that appeals to you then why not visit the Chetham’s Library Wedding Open Day on Sunday 21st February between 11am and 3:30pm where our expert catering team will be offering refreshments for you take in the gorgeous building.

“Just wanted to say a massive thank you for catering our Wedding on Saturday, the food was truly amazing and the staff service was impeccable and they were so friendly!! Unbelievable team and wish I had gone into the kitchen to personally thank the chefs! The Weddings I have been to the foods always average but everyone commented how gorgeous the food was from the canapés all the way to the evening food! I actually managed to eat 3 canapés which is 3 more than I thought I would!! Mini Yorkshire puds we were all raving about! The main wedding breakfast was spot on! So glad we went for what we did! I think the groom Gavin would like to eat it all again please as unfortunately he chose to do his speech after the food which he is now regretting!! Thank you so much again for everything. Love Mr & Mrs Tomlinson xx”
