Surprise Silver Wedding Anniversary for the Heaths

Friends of Vanilla in Allseasons, Margaret and Mick Heath were recently thrown a surprise party to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary.

Mick and Margaret

The Heaths are the owners of beautiful bespoke Heaton House Farm and dedicated events company Heaton House Events. They have been now united in matrimony for 25 years. A real inspiration to the couples who they have helped to celebrate their own special day.

Mick and Margaret

It was a real honour to be asked to cater for this very special event and we were thrilled to receive the following thank you note from the Heath’s daughter, and manager of Heaton House Events, Sarah:

A MASSIVE ‘thank you’ for providing such a wonderful array of food at my parents’ surprise silver wedding anniversary.

When I first dreamed up the idea of a surprise event for them at home, you were the first company that sprung to mind as you are all so easy to work with and creative with food – perfect for this event. However, as my family and yourselves work regularly and closely together, I knew it wouldn’t be easy keeping it a surprise – but you did, and pulled it off to perfection.

Drinks Table

Lizzie was brilliant at the start by making sure the drinks table and venue were set up to perfection. The guests loved the variety of canapés; the mini fish and chip baskets were to die for!

We had a quick group photograph and as soon as it was taken, Simon had all the items ready for barbecuing – this timing was impeccable.

VinA Catering

The quality of food was amazing, and I’ve never seen steaks so big in all my life!

The dessert tier looked fabulous and I’ve never heard so many ‘yums’ from people as they took their first bite as I did in that five minutes. My cousins particularly enjoyed the brownies so much they took a bundle home with them!

VinA Catering

Everyone enjoyed the food and commented on how friendly and attentive the staff were.

Thank you to you all for keeping it secret, and also making the event absolutely perfect!

We are extremely pleased that they were impressed with our service, it was a privilege to be involved in this exceptionally special occasion.

Rock’N’Roll Wedding at Heaton House Farm

Themed weddings are becoming vastly popular as they are great ways to express you and your partner’s personality and interests.

Last weekend we catered for a retro Rock’N’Roll wedding that was held at the bespoke wedding venue, Heaton House Farm, which is set on the border between Cheshire and Staffordshire.

The venue was decorated in monochrome and featured cute ideas that added to the music theme of the event.

Tiered Table Centre

It included a tiered tower made from different sized records that held wedding favours and dried flower confetti. The wedding favours included nostalgic sweets like Liquorice Allsorts and everyone’s favourite Swizzel-Matlows.

Stone Roses Table Sign

Tables were named after the bride and grooms favourite bands, like The Stone Roses and a ‘Little Black Book of Set Lists’ was featured on each table for guests to share their favourite songs and artists.

Hay at Heaton House

Outside were these giant hay bales dressed as a bride and groom dubbed Mr and Mrs Hay that have been a feature at many of the Heaton House Farm weddings over the summer.

Ciao Bella! A Beautiful Italian Wedding

Last Sunday we catered for a wonderful wedding, held at the beautiful, Heaton House Farm. The styling was so pretty, we loved the birdcage floral table decorations and fantastic mint green birdcage wedding cake!

The lovely couple, Jennie and Tom, are of Italian descent and we experienced some true Italian traditions we had not seen before. We found this quite fascinating! Traditionally, marriages held on a Sunday are considered by the Italians to be the luckiest, so our lovely bride and groom certainly got off on the right footing. Green is also considered to be very lucky, so that gorgeous cake had that one covered.

What we found most intriguing was the reception traditions, over dinner the guests shouted for the Bride and Groom to kiss. Shouts of “Evviva gli sposi” – (“hurray for the newlyweds.”) were toasted regularly and responded to with thundering applause!

It is also traditional for guests to bang glasses with spoons to encourage the Bride and Groom to kiss several times. This was very rowdy, some glasses were broken! The atmosphere was wonderful and everyone seemed to have great fun. We did too! We loved watching it all.

We consider ourselves very lucky that our work allows us to be part of such special occasions. We take great pride in being instrumental in ensuring these happy events run smoothly and that all the guests enjoy something extra special. A huge congratulations to Tom and Jennie, thanks for making us a part of your fantastic day.
