Victor Haynes

Experience has taught us that you need a few ingredients to create a memorable event. Great company, fantastic food and excellent entertainment. Throughout the year we work many functions and see lots of great events with exceptional entertainers. From Singers and bands, to dancers, to the weird and wonderful; over the years we’ve seen it all.

One of our favourite people to work events with, however, is Victor Haynes a uniquely talented and experienced music artist based in Manchester. He’s worked in the music industry for a number of years as a live and studio artist. He’s written and produced 4 albums with his musical partner Pete May.

Victor is first and foremost a soul singer, deriving influence from the likes of Luther Vandross, George Benson and Lionel Richie. Victor’s experience and talent also means he is an accomplished jazz singer, playing tracks from artists such as Nat King Cole, Sinatra and Buble. Victor divides his work between solo performance with a quality backing tracks and as part of a duo with Dean D.sax Houston to their events a smooth jazz, Kenny G feel. Victor’s work caters to both up tempo dance sets and to laid back dinner party evenings.

TABLE PRESENTATION

“Just wanted to say a massive thank you for catering our Wedding on Saturday, the food was truly amazing and the staff service was impeccable and they were so friendly!! Unbelievable team and wish I had gone into the kitchen to personally thank the chefs! The Weddings I have been to the foods always average but everyone commented how gorgeous the food was from the canapés all the way to the evening food! I actually managed to eat 3 canapés which is 3 more than I thought I would!! Mini Yorkshire puds we were all raving about! The main wedding breakfast was spot on! So glad we went for what we did! I think the groom Gavin would like to eat it all again please as unfortunately he chose to do his speech after the food which he is now regretting!! Thank you so much again for everything. Love Mr & Mrs Tomlinson xx”

Civil Ceremonies and Weddings take place in The Swallow Barn, originally a cow byre. With its limestone walls and high vaulted beams offering such a natural, relaxed and romantic feel for your photographs. The beams are swathed with swags of hops which are traditionally associated with good luck and prosperity.

Breaking the tradition

Now the dust has settled from the Halloween period and the fantastic firework displays it’s already time to start thinking about the big one – Christmas. that’s right, love it or hate it: the Christmas period now begins almost as soon as autumn hits, you’ll have noticed the christmas lights have started to go up around town and the supermarkets have turned there attention to Christmas decorations.

Whilst it may be a little too early to buy your turkey for the big day it doesn’t mean you can’t plan and with so many of us happy to break the tradition every year we thought we’d share so great alternatives to the traditional turkey dish.

Chicken – It cooks quicker than a Turkey so the risk of over cooking it is reduced and can even be tastier and with the stripped carcass you’ll be able to make a flavourful stock.

Duck – A crispy alternative to Turkey and can take as little as 15 minutes to prepare. It may be pricier but its worth it for the delicate outer skin and mouth watering tender meat once it’s cooked off and its short prep time will let you get on with enjoying the day.

Vegetarian – If you’re entertaining family and friends this Christmas its always worth thinking about a vegetarian option. One of our favourite dishes is a Festive Squash Jalousie. This tasty pie is a perfect veggie option for Christmas Day and can be served with all the traditional trimmings. You can find the full recipe here:

Some yummy ideas I’m sure you’ll agree. We personally can’t wait for Christmas. The festive period always brings with it Christmas joy and togetherness and the abundance of great food only makes it better.

Next week: Christmas events.
